1. Formerly, removable disk packs were common, allowing storage capacity to be expanded. 2. The same methods are used for many later disk packs . 3. The process is reversed to remove a disk pack . 4. Some racing clutches use small multi-plate disk packs that are not part of the flywheel. 5. It was introduced in 1962 using the IBM 1316 disk pack to store two million characters. 6. Turning the handle would lock the disk pack in place and free the top shell for removal. 7. To remove the disk pack , the drive would be taken off line and allowed to spin down. 8. The disk pack is covered with a clear plastic shell and a bottom cover when not in use. 9. The drives are mounted in individual drawers that are unlatched and pulled out to access the disk pack . 10. Each disk pack could record up to 5.4 minutes of NTSC video, or 4.5 minutes of PAL video.
